There are many ways to try to build a healthier life. There are fad diets and weight loss pills, meal plans that are no meat and all meat, workout routines from the manic to the mundane. Some of these are valid and others are nonsense. Unfortunately for those seeking a quick fix, the only guaranteed way to lose weight and get healthy is also the most basic.
Eat Healthy. Be Active. Repeat Consistently.
That’s it. Nothing special, secret or magic about it. Burn more calories than you are taking in and you will lose weight.
I learned that truth at SparkPeople. It’s an online website that provides free tools, resources and support for adults who want to improve their diets, establish a healthy lifestyle, get physically active, lose weight and/or manage their weight. And best of all, it’s completely free.
I joined SparkPeople in January 2009 and did exactly nothing with it. I returned in January 2010 and started exploring the site. It wasn’t until June 2010 that I made the connection between what I was reading on the site and what I needed to do in my life to make positive changes.
It’s now 2012. I continue to be successful losing the weight I want to lose, I am more physically fit now than I have ever been in my life, and I have gone to work for SparkPeople as their Success Story Manager. All and all, I think the site has been very, very good for me.
If you are thinking that you want to make a healthier change, try SparkPeople. You have nothing to lose but the weight.
